I do not participate with any insurance plans, because most insurance plans require a mental illness diagnosis to authorize treatment, and they typically dictate what type of therapy you may have. I believe that diagnoses and treatment plans should be confidential, shared only between the client and counselor.
If you choose to request reimbursement for our sessions from your insurance carrier, I want to assist you however I can. I will give you any documentation that your insurance company needs about my license or provider credentials, and I will give you detailed receipts for our sessions.
Good Faith Estimate
Effective January 1, 2022, and pursuant to PHSA 2799B-6; 45 CFR 149.610 (The ‘No Surprises Act‘), all health care providers are obligated to provide patients who do not have or who choose not to use health insurance coverage with a good faith estimate of the cost of services in advance of scheduled services, or upon request.
You will be furnished with a Good Faith Estimate at the time of scheduling your initial appointment. A Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for counseling services.
The information provided in the Good Faith Estimate is only an estimate of services reasonably expected to be furnished at the time the Good Faith Estimate is issued. Actual items, services, or charges may differ from the Good Faith Estimate. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.
