Below are some of the most common questions I am asked. If you don’t see an answer to your question here, please use the contact form below to let me know what you need.

Do you work with clients who don't live in North Carolina?

As I am only licensed in North Carolina, I can only work with clients who are physically in North Carolina at the time of our appointment. I work with clients throughout the state of North Carolina via telehealth, and I see those who live in the Triangle area in my office in Cary, NC.

If you do not live in North Carolina, please read this blog post to find a therapist who understands disability in your area.

You seem to really understand disability. Can you give me advice about my child, spouse, etc.?

I cannot offer specific advice related to individuals who are not my clients. Doing so would be acting outside of the scope of my counseling license. If you are struggling to find a licensed mental health professional to help a person with a disability in your local area, I invite you to read this blog post.

Do you know a therapist who understands disability in my area?

I often receive requests from parents or other caregivers around the world looking for a therapist for someone they love with a disability, or for themselves. I wish that I knew every clinician who could help them, but of course I don’t. Because of this, I recommend that you read this blog post if you are trying to find a therapist who understand disabilities in your local area.

I see that you offer online counseling. Can you work with me or a family member online?

I am Board Certified in Telemental health, which is online therapy. Within the United States, laws around online therapy are usually established by the state that the client (not the counselor) lives in.

If you are in North Carolina, you are welcome to schedule an online session with me through my scheduling portal.

If you are outside of North Carolina, I invite you to read this blog post. In it, I share suggestions for finding a local counselor who understands disability.

I want to build a private counseling practice to help people with disabilities or their caregivers. Can you help me?
I’m a student and I need to interview a therapist for a school project. Can I talk to you?

I receive many requests for these kinds of interviews. In order to honor my clinical and personal commitments, I am unable to grant these kinds of interviews.

Do you take interns?

My practice does not offer internship positions at this time.

Will you come on my podcast, speak at an event, or design a training for my team?

I would be delighted to learn more about your needs and how I might be able to help. Please use the contact form below to connect with me.
